The first nine students to complete Suffolk County Community College’s Automotive Technology Program – the only program in the northeast certified to train Tesla START technicians – graduated on August 22. Two students from the East End completed the program. Photographers got a chance to get up close and personal with visiting animals from the Quogue Wildlife Refuge on Monday during an event with the International Center of Photography at the Southampton Arts Center as part of the arts center's current Photo Ark exhibit. Photographers are photographing a Leopard gecko Photo Ark style. The National Geographic Photo Ark by Joel Sartore exhibition will run through September 8, at the Southampton Arts Center. A tragic event on the waters of Great South Bay off Bay Shore in 2005, in which two boats collided and Brianna Lieneck, 11, was killed, her parents severely injured, and an older sister and her friend hurt, led to the passage in 2019 of “Brianna’s Law.” With it, New York State joined other states in requiring operators of a motorized watercraft (including sailboats with auxiliary motors) to successfully complete a state-approved boating safety course. Water Mill Museum To Open for Season on May 22

The Water Mill Museum will reopen for the season on Thursday, May 22, and has announced its calendar of events for the coming months. The museum is located at 41 Old Mill Road and is open Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The museum is closed Monday to Wednesday. The Water Mill Museum dates back to 1644, with a rich history of being the oldest restored working water-powered grist mill in the United States. Stony Brook Southampton Hospital has earned an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade for spring 2025 from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Hampton Library To Host Family Festival

The Hampton Library will hold a Family Fest FUNdraiser on Saturday, May 17, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Channing Daughters Winery in Brigehampton.
