On Wednesday, January 13, Chief Nick Hemby (center) was sworn in as the Bridgehampton Fire Department Chief for 2021. Tom Federico (far left) was sworn in as the 1st Assistant Chief and Dillon Berkoski, (right of Mr. Hemby), as 2nd Assistant Chief. Harry Halsey, the deputy treasure and Jack Zito, treasurer, were also on hand. Not pictured is Richard Kelly, the department’s secretary.

Westhampton Girl Scout Troop 521 ninth graders Kate Pomroy, Brielle Bremerman, Sophie DePierro, Sarah DeVerna, Brynn Reilly, and Haley Waszkelewicz, along with eighth grader Jamie Kelly (not pictured) achieved the second highest award in Girl Scouts, earning the Silver Award. Projects included gathering winter boots for Maureen's Haven and creating a storage cart, WHB Cemetery cleaning the older headstones and fundraising to purchase the cleaner, and donating a craft cart full of goodies to HELP USA by creating a Zoom murder mystery fundraiser. The troop completed these projects during COVID-19, working 50 hours each towards their projects.
