The community-based i-tri program that fosters self-respect, personal empowerment, self-confidence, positive body image and healthy lifestyle choices for middle school aged girls, held its Sweet 16 Gala on June 18 at Longhouse Reserve in East Hampton. The evening culminated with the honoring of 16 i-tri Luminaries, including Ann Welker and Fred Thiele, and a paddle raise to support the program. The Sagaponack School recognized Cathy Hatgistavrou’s retirement from the School Board on June 24. Ms. Hatgistavrou was presented with gifts and certificate of appreciation from Superintendent John Finello, right. On June 26, the Southampton Town Board came together with Legislator Ann Welker, Town Clerk Sundy Schermeyer, Tracy Kolsin from the Southampton Town Youth Bureau and the Programs Director of the LGBT Network, Micah Schneider, at the memorial for Edith Windsor to celebrate Pride Month. The event provided an opportunity to honor the resilience, contributions, and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community, while also recognizing the significant impact of Edith Windsor’s advocacy.
