Former Pierson basketball coach Bob Vishno, who coached the Whalers to their one and only state championship in 1978, watching this year’s team compete last Friday on TV at the Corner Bar in Sag Harbor. The Whalers lost to Newfield, the eventual state champion, in the state semifinal, 66-62.

Caroline Heredia Goes West For Field Excursion In The Rocky Mountains  Caroline Heredia of East Hampton was one of 12 SUNY Oneonta students who teamed up this summer and put their skills to the test during an 18-day field trip to the Rocky Mountain region.
