Private Brayden S. Mackie, a 2025 graduate of Westhampton Beach High School and a resident of Speonk, has recently completed his United States Marine Corps Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina. He recently returned home.
Hampton Bays resident John Siebold, a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Merchant Marines, celebrated his 100th birthday on November 18. Family and friends gathered at the Modern Snack Bar in Aquebogue on November 15 for the celebration.
The East Hampton Lions Club and the American Legion Auxiliary held its third blood drive of the year on November 17 at the Amagansett American Legion Post #419, marking the 25th year of the cooperative blood drives in East Hampton. More than 125 pints were collected. The next blood drive will be held in January. Reverend Nancy Remkus of the Old Whalers’ Church in Sag Harbor, far left, with fellow clergy representing a variety of faiths, at an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, held on November 20. Over 140 people attended the service, where guests wrote messages of gratitude on leaves and contributed to a collection in support of the food pantries in Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor. The service also featured a performance by the Bell Choir, St. Ann’s Choir, with Remkus also performing songs and leaving hymns before everyone gathered for a pie reception.
