Herb Gilcher leads the pack as Santa at the 35th ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) annual Food and Toy Run to St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Hampton Bays on Sunday This is the 35th year for this event. Over 170 bikers gathered at the Elks Lodge in Riverhead proceeded to the church at bringing with them toys, non-perishable foods and other donations. St. Mary's, then disburses the items to local charitable organizations including Angel Tree Program of the Prison's Fellowship Ministry, The Retreat, children and families living on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation and local families in Hampton Bays.
