Students at Our Lady of the Hamptons School are a bit more “energy wise” after a presentation by PSEG Long Island and The National Theatre for Children. Students recently  interacted with the performers during the live Energized Guyz performance, which taught them about energy and how to save it.

Through the Hampton Bays High School science research program,  junior Dave Catena is furthering his independent science research on the medical applications of 3D printing. He is being mentored by Dr. Murat Guvendiren, assistant professor of chemical and materials engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

The members of the Hampton Bays Elementary School service organization K-Kids recently donated $450 to the American Cancer Society as part of their 15th annual Denim Day fundraiser. They raised the funds by selling breast cancer awareness bracelets to fellow students, teachers and administrators. Students and staff also wore jeans and the color pink on October 25 in honor of the cause.

The Garley-Rottkamp family of Hampton Bays participated in The Fresh Air Fund’s Friendly Towns Program over the summer and were among the winners of the 2019 photo contest. All winners were selected from the hundreds of photos submitted by volunteer host families along the East Coast and Southern Canada.  The photo was selected as a winner in the “Beach” category, and features Fresh Air child, Jessica (8), enjoying a day at the beach with her summer sister, Esme (9). The Fresh Air Fund provides free summer experiences to New York City children from low-income communities.

The Children’s Museum of the East End hosted the first ever, post-Halloween

The Children’s Museum of the East End hosted the first ever, post-Halloween "Pumpkin Fling" on Saturday morning. The catapults were designed and created this summer by iCAMP. Kids got to learn the physics behind the medieval machines while launching pumpkins in the Museum’s driveway. MICHAEL HELLER

Louis Merola, 93, a World War II vetern from Eastport, and Joe Taranto, 88, a veteran of the Korean War, will be among those invited to the Honor Flight Long Island reunion 50 Long Island WWII and Korean War Veterans who were flown to Washington, D.C. in September for a one-day guided tour of WWII, Korean War and other military memorials. The reunion is Saturday, November 23, at the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale.

Water Mill Museum To Open for Season on May 22

The Water Mill Museum will reopen for the season on Thursday, May 22, and has announced its calendar of events for the coming months. The museum is located at 41 Old Mill Road and is open Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The museum is closed Monday to Wednesday. Hampton Library To Host Family Festival

The Hampton Library will hold a Family Fest FUNdraiser on Saturday, May 17, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Channing Daughters Winery in Brigehampton.
