Amber Waves Farm Educator Lisa Dix brought freshly picked produce to Project MOST's classroom last Monday. Last week, a bench donated by Thayer's Hardware in honor of Barbara Albright was dedicated. A longtime, active community member, Albright died in February. Employees of the Southampton Town Department of Public Safety and Emergency Management will be wearing special uniform shirts on Fridays in October to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The department consists of the Fire Marshal’s Office, Code Enforcement, Animal Control, the Town Litter Crew and Emergency Management. Uniformed staff from each of these divisions, along with all of the administrative and office support staff will be wearing the pink-themed shirts on Fridays to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “As members of the Town of Southampton community, we are proud to play even a small part in trying to bring attention and enhanced public awareness to Breast Cancer Awareness month and the ongoing needs for high quality care, education and early detection,” said Town Code Compliance and Emergency Management Administrator Ryan Murphy.
The Ride for Love, in partnership with the Massapequa Park Bicycle Club's Tour of the Hamptons, traveled through the area on October 1, with Douglas Elliman fielding a team of riders. The event raises money for God's Love We Deliver, a nonprofit that feeds New Yorkers who are too sick to shop and cook for themselves. Douglas Elliman agents Nirali Shah and Sean Devine cycling through East Hampton Village.

Having suffered the tragic loss of their beloved son Tyler to suicide in 2014, his parents Valinda and Mitchell Valcich (pictured with Tyler's personal 1969 1/2 Dodge Super Bee Six Pack, which Tyler took 10 years to build from all original parts) founded the Tyler Project to raise awareness of mental health concerns and cyberbullying. On Sunday, to focus the public's attention on their cause, the annual "Tyler Valcich Memorial Car Show" was held at the Amagansett Fire House, followed by a car cruise featuring the classic vehicles from the Show.
