WAINSCOTT
Heating Options Explained
AIA Peconic is holding an education event on Thursday, October 19, at 5:30 p.m. at a home in Wainscott.
According to a press release, those attending will learn about heat pump applications where intelligent electrification provides better financial results (and lower carbon emissions) than historical fossil fuel or electric resistance solutions, and learn how heat pumps can efficiently heat domestic hot water, warm seasonal pools, and condition occupied spaces using only electricity. Emphasis will be placed on local applications with high energy consumption, including providing year-round comfort and improved aesthetics in larger projects incorporating high-efficiency geothermal HVAC.
These all-electric applications are highly sustainable when combined with renewable grid energy and/or rooftop solar.
The featured case study adds pool heat and solar power to an existing project, eliminating the electric bill for the home and the carbon footprint for the electricity used in the home and pool. The presentation will also look at an older South Fork architectural project that has had geothermal HVAC since initial construction was completed in 2008.

Barone will discuss his life as a professional BMX biker and how he’s traveled (and biked) all over the world. Barone and Foreman have collectively taught thousands of kids how to ride a bike, helping kids gain the confidence and freedom that comes with taking a first solo-ride.
