Poets Rising, a group of writers and poets that meetings monthly at the Hampton Bays Library, celebrated its 14th anniversary at a recent meeting. Westhampton Garden Club presented two awards at its recent meeting. First Vice-President and Gardens Chair Peggy Veziris received the Club Appreciation Award for her tireless support and mentoring of WGC members' conservation and preservation efforts, as well as overseeing the five public gardens that the club established and maintains in Westhampton and Quogue. Hala Lawrence received the Years of Service Award for 25 years of dedication to ecological gardening and support of her colleagues. Eleanor Kobel, Dawn LaDu, and Donn Larson were among those who attended a fundraiser hosted by the Greater Westhampton Historical Museum on Saturday.
