Connie Kalish Of Bridgehampton Dies May 9

Constant Kalish of Bridgehampton died at his home on May 9. He was 95.

Known as Connie, he was born on September 11, 1920, in his parents’ home in Bridgehampton. He was the youngest son of Anthony and Wladyslawa “Anna” (Nowicki) Kalish. He had two brothers, Edward and Chester, and two sisters, Jean Gugell and Emily Tiska, all of whom predeceased him. Mr. Kalish and his brother Chester were longtime potato farmers in Bridgehampton and East Hampton.

He married Frances Ruthinowski in August 1946.

He is survived by three sons, Anthony and wife Christine, David and wife Karen, and Gary and wife Lisa; grandchildren Michael, Nicolas and Sara (Gunsiorowski), Gary, Jon and Amanda, Luke, Kimberly (House), Kristopher and Jocelin. Nine great-grandchildren, Logan and Ari Kalish, Sheila and Walter Gunsiorowski; Sophia, Jack, Julian and Charlie Kalish; and Connor House. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel. He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Caroline Griffiths.

A memorial service will be held in June at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bridgehampton, to be followed by a private interment at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Cemetery in Southampton.

Funeral arrangements were handled by O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
