Information regarding a proposition on the Remsenburg-Speonk Union Free School District budget vote scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, was inaccurately reported in the May 12 Southampton Press Western Edition.
Voters will be asked to vote on a capital expenditure of $1,836,230, all of which would be funded through reserve funds, with no impact to taxpayers.

The proposition reads as follows:
Proposition No. 4
RESOLVED, (a) That the Board of Education of the Remsenburg-Speonk Union Free School District, in the County of Suffolk, New York (the “District”), is hereby authorized to reconstruct and reconfigure interior space at the Remsenburg-Speonk Elementary School to provide for additional small group instructional space and to renovate the existing ground garage located in the north parking lot of said school for use as administrative and other space (the “Project”), and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto an amount not to exceed $1,836,230; and
(b) that $332,772 of funds on hand and available in the “Remsenburg-Speonk Union Free School District 2004 Capital Reserve Fund”, approved by the voters of the District on May 11, 2004, plus any interest earnings thereon, are hereby authorized to be expended to pay a portion of the cost of the Project, and such expenditure is hereby approved;
(c) that $1,503,458 of funds on hand and available in the District’s “Remsenburg-Speonk Union Free School District 2017 Capital Reserve Fund”, approved by the voters of the District on May 16, 2017, plus any interest earnings thereon, are hereby authorized to be expended to pay the balance of the cost of the Project.
