Amanda Goldberg, second from left, and her fiance, Nir Shemesh, with Ms. Goldberg's parents, Denise and Mark Goldberg, founders of the Original Goldberg's bagel empire. Amanda Goldberg, 32, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 9. In lieu of engagement gifts, the couple asked guests to support the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
