Another luxury car was stolen in the Southampton Town Police jurisdiction. A 2021 Land Rover Range Rover was taken from outside a Swans Neck Lane residence in Water Mill on October 1.

Town Police joined with Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to ask for the public’s help in locating the vehicle and the person or persons who stole it. The vehicle was last seen at 8:30 p.m. and has New York license plate HXZ 1571.

Car thefts have persisted as motorists continue to leave key fobs in unlocked vehicles. Last week, police in Quogue Village reported the thefts of two pricey rides, both stolen from Dune Road driveways, taken around the same time and left accessible with the keys inside them.

On September 29, the first victim reported that a 2021 BMW X7, valued at $90,000, was taken during the overnight hours between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. It was recovered the next day in Fairfax, Virginia. The second victim reported a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, worth $110,000, stolen between 12:25 and 12:35 a.m.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Submit an anonymous tip to the agency by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, texting SCPD and a message to CRIMES or visiting p3tips.com. All calls and texts are kept confidential, police said.
