I find it hard to have any sympathy for Supervisor Jay Schneiderman’s budgetary woes [“Schneiderman Presents ‘Balanced’ Southampton Town Budget Despite ‘Challenging Times,’” 27east.com, October 4]. Might I offer a suggestion? Tell all your departments to cut their budgets by 10 percent.
In her story, Kitty Merrill never mentioned the fact that when Schneiderman came into office, the annual budget was $99 million, and it is now $109 million.
I’m sure I am not alone in feeling the pricing pressures.
