Dan A. Marshall Sr. of Hampton Bays died at his home on March 20. He was 83.
Born July 15, 1925, in Timisoara, Romania, he was the son of Lilly and Colonel Constantin Athanasiu. Following college, he spent half of his life in Romania, where he was an accountant and comptroller. He came to the United States in 1967; he became a citizen and settled in Hampton Bays, where he lived for the past 17 years.
According to family, he was respected as a worldly, well educated, gentle, loving man who loved life and was admired by everyone. Survivors said he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Nadia of Hampton Bays, he is survived by a son, Dan Marshall Jr. of Europe, and a sister, Monique Romeo of Hampton Bays.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 9 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons, also in Southampton.
