Daphne Paul Dies July 19

Daphne Paul, sister of Jay Paul of Bridgehampton, died at her home in Rye on July 19.

Born in Montreal, she graduated from Denison University and began an advertising career with Young and Rubicam Inc. in Manhattan and remained there, in the TV department, until retirement.

A longtime member of the Westchester Country Club, she was particularly active with and honored by St. Vincent’s Hospital Harrison in 2008. Survivors said her fun and charm will be missed.

A funeral Mass was held July 27 at The Church of the Resurrection in Rye.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said. A subsequent investigation revealed he was intoxicated, with a breath test revealing a blood alcohol level of .18, according to police. He was held for morning arraignment and then released.
