Darlene Shaughnessy
Darlene Marie Shaughnessy of East Quogue died at Southampton Hospital on Thursday, February 21, after a long and courageous battle with lower motor neuron disease.
Ms. Shaughnessy was born in Brooklyn on December 7, 1952, and later moved to East Quogue where she owned and operated The Village Clipper from 1978 to 1991. After closing the business in 1991, Darlene stayed home to raise her two sons.
In addition to her husband of 23 years, Christopher Shaughnessy, she is survived by two sons, Matthew and Justin and wife Brianna; and two step-children, Bartholomew and Fiona Shaughnessy. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Dyer of Flanders. She was predeceased by her parents, Darwin and Mildred Dyer, and brothers David and Richard Dyer.
A memorial service was held on February 26 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
