Daryn Elizabeth Sidor of East Quogue died peacefully on December 13, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 62.

She fought valiantly until the very end, showing strength, grace and determination throughout her journey, her family said.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Her love for her family was unwavering and evident in everything she did, they said. She found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren, cherishing time spent together and creating lasting memories filled with warmth, laughter and her unmistakable joy for life.

A true warrior, she defied the odds after her diagnosis in 2019. She lived for more than six and a half years with cancer, showing determination, strength and grace beyond what could ever be expected, her family said. A compassionate nurse and natural storyteller, she spent her life caring for others — bringing comfort as a long-term care nurse and joy as a labor and delivery nurse.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a loving wife and a treasured friend to many. A true pillar of strength for her family, through profound loss she continued to give, to show up, and to fill every gathering with warmth and conversation.

She will be remembered for her resilience, strength, her generous heart, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.

She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Michael; her husband, Mark Sidor; and her father, Kevin Guidera. She is survived by her children, Alixandra McMahon, Courtney Sidor, and Lucas Sidor; her son-in-law, Steven McMahon; her grandchildren, Lawson and Waverly McMahon; her mother, Sheila Guidera; her sisters, Kerin Guidera King, Regan Kiembock, and Blair Guidera, along with their families; and many nieces and nephews.
