David Henry Bierhorst of Southampton died on November 24 at Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook following a prolonged illness.
Born in Cincinnatti, Ohio, he had a 30-year association with Mobil Oil Corporation.
A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, where he received a degree in architecture, he was a member and president of Phi Sigma Kappa. Before retiring in Southampton in 1995, he resided in Pasadena and San Marino, California.
In addition to his wife, Elizabeth Bierhorst of Southampton, he is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Wizialowski of Connecticut and Janet Lohman of California; a son, David Lowell Bierhorst of California; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Bartlett Silano of East Quogue; a brother, Gordon Bierhorst of Florida; and his former wife, Carol Blackburn Bierhorst of California.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Brockett funeral home in Southampton with Reverend Peter Larsen of St. John’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment and a private family reception will follow.
