David G. Luther Of East Quogue Dies August 24

David G. Luther of East Quogue died at Southampton Hospital on Saturday, August 24. He was 92.

Mr. Luther served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Life Member of the Quogue VFW Post 5350. He worked as a service manager for Lyons Ford and Modern Tracker. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Riverhead.

Mr. Luther is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mabel (Foster); a daughter, Diane Dedicke and husband Wayne of Calverton; five grandchildren, Sherri Luther, Jefferey and Dawn Kearns, Donald G. and Kevin M. Barrett; six great-grandchildren, Corey Luther, Dawson and Sydney Palmer, Kaitlyn Lucas, Sophya and Gabryella Smith; and a great-great-grandson, Cody Luther. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jean Thompson.

The family will receive friends at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on Wednesday, August 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 29. The procession will be leaving from the funeral home, located at 20 Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays, at 11:30 a.m. For further information, please call the funeral home at (631) 728-3660.

SOUTHAMPTON VILLAGE — A New Jersey man was charged with assault following a road rage incident on June 30 following a motor vehicle accident on Hill Street. Police arrived at the scene and determined that Kevin E. Guevara-Martinez, 26, of New Jersey was fighting with a 43-year-old Hampton Bays man. Both men were arrested.
