Della A. Bossung
Della A. Bossung of Westhampton died at her home on June 8. She was 78.
Born on August 30, 1933 in Brooklyn to Palma and Vito Minerva, she grew up in Lynbrook. After graduating from high school, she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in New York.
In 1957, she married Richard Bossung and the couple moved to East Quogue where her husband and his brother, Robert, opened and operated an electrical company. Over the years, the couple developed and managed several properties including the Country Style Garden Apartments, Faire Bonne Chere Motel and the East Side Tennis Club in Westhampton.
An avid tennis player, she enjoyed traveling, boating and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, Ms. Bossung is survived by her brother, John Minerva and his wife Jane, of Cutchogue; a sister, Serafina Minerva of Lynbrook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach. A funeral service was held on Monday, June 11, at Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue.
