Devoted To Service

Our own Suffolk County legislator, Bridget Fleming, is running for the District 1 congressional seat vacated by Lee Zeldin. While Bridget is a household name to many because of her term as Southampton Town councilwoman and her 12 years serving on the Suffolk County Legislature, some folks may still need to get to know this Noyac resident better.

Bridget is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hunter College’s Special Honor Curriculum and received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she received the prestigious Kramer Award for service to the community.

Going door to door canvassing with Bridget when she first ran for Town Council made me see her total devotion to public service. She’s fun to be with, is a powerful speaker for social justice, and is knowledgeable and passionate about eastern Long Island issues.

What has always set Ms. Fleming apart for me is her total commitment to protecting our environment. Water quality and combating the effects of climate change are her obsessions.

In Congress, she will be able to support important conservation legislation such as the Growing Climate Solutions Act and the America Is Beautiful initiative, and many others.

Congressional District 1 is desperate for an environmental advocate such as Bridget Fleming to be in Washington, D.C.
