Dolores Buttonow Of Southampton Dies At Age 82

Dolores M. Buttonow

Lifelong Southampton resident Dolores M. Buttonow died on April 13 at University Hospital at Stony Brook. She was 82.

A graduate of Southampton High School, she worked at Cunningham Insurance until her retirement. Over her lifetime, Ms. Buttonow enjoyed travelling to many places, including Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, and Greenland. She also enjoyed gardening, needlework and weekend trips to casinos.

She is survived by her brother, Stanley Buttonow, and a sister, Cornelia Buttonow, both from Southampton; nieces, Marie Jackson of Virginia and Maria Greenlaw of Hampton Bays; a nephew, Kenneth Janik of Florida; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 17, at Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church in Southampton. Interment followed at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery, also in Southampton.

Nod to the Past

Refuse Surprises

The Noyac Civic Council once again is proud to have many volunteers join in the Great East End Clean-Up. This year, we had a few different surprises as we picked up the usual trash along Noyac Road. A New Jersey man was arrested by Southampton Town Police over the weekend and charged with unlawful surveillance after a woman told police she suspected that he had used a remote camera to watch her in the bathroom.
