Donald C. Stringham
Don Stringham of Southampton died on June 20 at the Firemen’s Home in Hudson, New York, due to complications of diabetes and Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 70.
Born in 1940 to Miriam Benzango and Robert Stringham of Hempstead, Mr. Stringham was member of the Southampton Fire Department for more than 40 years and a member of the Southampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Peg Stringham of Southampton; three daughters, Sandra Salvaty and Paula and her husband Arthur Penello, all of Florida, and Jennifer and her husband Steve Maddaloni of Tennessee; a brother, Robert Stringham and his wife Marie of Riverhead; two sisters, Doris Holmes of Riverhead and Joyce and her husband Kirk Spooner of Mastic; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was on June 23 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton, where firematic services were offered by the Southampton Fire Department. A prayer service, officiated by pastors Koonae Lee and Patricia Intermaggio, was held on June 24, also at the funeral home. Interment of ashes, to be held at a later date, will be private.
