Donald F. Farley
Donald F. Farley of Westhampton Beach died on Wednesday, July 13, after a long illness. He was 74.
Born August 19, 1936, he earned his Bachelor of Science in geological engineering from North Carolina State University and his master’s degree from Long Island University. He became a naval aviator stationed at Quonset Point, Rhode Island, Naval Air Station and served aboard the U.S.S. Champlain.
After his military service, he worked for five years at Grumman Aircraft and 30 years as superintendant of the Massapequa Water District. Mr. Farley was also an avid and skilled golfer.
He is survived by his wife Eileen; his children, Donald Farley and his wife Maria of Indiana; Susan and her husband Pat DiVisconti of North Merrick, and Jean and her husband Alan MacKenzie of Briarcliff Manor; and brothers, W. Ronald Farley of South Carolina and Lowery Farley of Georgia; and four grandchildren, Nicholas Farley of Indiana, and Matthew, Molly and Riley MacKenzie of Briarcliff Manor.
A memorial service will take place at Calverton National Cemetery on Friday, September 16.
