Close East Hampton Airport to appease fewer than 100 year-round residents [“Press Sessions Discussion Explores The Future Of The East Hampton Airport,” 27east.com, February 6]? The well-heeled will simply buy/rent homes or condos farther west (Hampton Bays, Quogue, Westhampton), or farther east of East Hampton.
Are those few residents who are opposed to noise ready for boarded-up main street restaurants and storefronts, and many “for sale” home signs dotting the landscape?
Chase the rich away and the town’s economy suffers beyond repair!
