Dorothy A. Cook Bennett of Springfield, Ohio, died January 10, 2017. She was 92.
Born February 1, 1924, in Southampton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Graham) Griffin.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Lauren Rath of Ohio, Rebecca Tellez of Ohio, and James Rath and wife Hayli of Alabama; three great-grandchildren, Trista Snider, Morgan Rath and Keghan Hampton; step-daughters, Margi Gordon of North Carolina, Deborah Bennett of New Jersey; two stepsons Robert Bennett and William Dunn of Southampton; step-grandchildren, Cody Gordon and Andrew Gordon of North Carolina, Brian Bennett of Southampton, Roy Bennett of Pennsylvania; several step-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Norman Rath of Ohio; four nephews, John Griffin of Southampton, Donald Griffin of Westhampton Beach, Graham Griffin of Bridgehampton and Drew Griffin of Florida; a niece, Mary Griffin Bast of Massachusetts; good friends, George and Rebecca Reinhart of Ohio; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two husbands, Adam J. Cook and Robert W. Bennett; and a daughter, Beverly Cook Rath; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Griffin and wife Alice, Lloyd Griffin and wife Edna and Albert Griffin and wife Marjorie.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Honey Creek Presbyterian Church, 212 West Jefferson Street, New Carlisle, Ohio 45344, with a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Shelley Wiley will officiate. Burial will follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery.
