Dorothy Muriel LaFreniere Of Sag Harbor Dies At 68

Dorothy Muriel LaFreniere

Dorothy Muriel LaFreniere of Sag Harbor died on October 19 at her home, just a week shy of her 68th birthday.

Born October 26, 1942, in Brooklyn to Muriel (née Kornorfer) Harriett and Alfred Francis Vachris, she worked in wine and liquor sales.

She is survived by two sons, Christian LaFreniere of Sag Harbor and Robert LaFreniere of Virginia; a daughter, Michele Dixon of Maryland; two sisters, Muriel Dixerson of East Northport and Georgiann Chapman of Connecticut; a brother, Alfred Vachris of Lloyd Harbor; a grandson; four nieces; and six nephews.

The family received visitors on October 21 at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. A funeral mass was held on October 22 at St. Andrew’s Church in Sag Harbor. Cremation followed.

A simple fact about the SALT deductions is being obscured with Nick Lakota’s statements in the news. If the 2017 tax rules expire, residents will once again be able to deduct 100 percent of their state and local taxes.
