Dorothy R. Cyrta Of Westhampton Beach Dies May 21

Dorothy R. Cyrta of Westhampton Beach died May 21 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care on Quiogue. She was 91.

Born August 4, 1924, in Quogue, she was known by family and friends as “Dot.” Survivors said her favorite pastimes were gardening and caring for her yard, as well as watching the birds and animals that would frequent her property. She also enjoyed the many pets she had over the years. She and her husband, John, who predeceased her, established and operated their propane business, Beach Bottle Gas.

Ms. Cyrta is survived by a daughter, Joan Hadley and husband James; grandchildren, Heather Mezzatesta and husband Michael, Tina Griffing Shank, Tamra Hadley, Michael Hadley and Patrick Hadley and wife Sara; and great-granddaughters, Jacqueline Saccente, Mindy Griffing and Angelina Beard.

She was predeceased by siblings, Helen Cantin and Henry Swanson.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Follett and Werner Funeral home in Westhampton Beach. Burial was at the family plot in Westhampton Cemetery.
