Dorothy Stachecki Of Southampton Dies December 31

Dorothy A. Stachecki of Southampton died on Sunday, December 31, 2017. She was 82.

Ms. Stachecki was born on March 21, 1935, in Southampton, to Joseph and Jennie Raffel. She graduated from Southampton High School.

She previously worked for the New York Telephone Company as a supervisor in Southampton and East Hampton.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Stachecki (Beata) of East Hampton; a daughter, Darla Stachecki of New York City; her sisters, Bertha Stachecki and Patricia Sherry; and a brother, Joseph Raffel; and grandson, Trevor. She also leaves behind her dog, Coco.

Ms. Stachecki was predeceased by her brothers, Theodore and Eugene Raffel; and her sister, Pamela Carabine.

A funeral Mass was held on January 3 at Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton, followed by interment at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
