Douglas M. Borucke
Douglas Michael Borucke of Southampton and Yaphank died at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 16. He was 52.
Born December 3, 1959, in Southampton to John and Joyce Borucke, he attended Our Lady of the Hamptons and Southampton Public Schools, graduating from Southampton High School in 1978. While in school, Mr. Borucke excelled in scholastics and athletics, especially football.
He attended the State University of New York at Cortland, and became a general contractor.
Mr. Borucke will be remembered for his love and fun with his family, kindness to his friends, fondness for young children, and his competitive spirit in the sports arena, survivors said.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by siblings, John Borucke and his wife Myla of Glen Head, Mark Borucke and his wife France of Southampton, Elizabeth Borucke of Southampton; and three nieces, Skylar, Kali and Shannon Borucke. He was predeceased by his twin brother, William Thomas Borucke of Southampton, in October 2010.
Visitation was held at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass took place on Wednesday, March 21, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church. Interment followed at Sacred Hearts Cemetery.
