Dr. Robert Burns Keppler
Dr. Robert Burns Keppler of Westhampton Beach and Jupiter, Florida, died on Thursday, August 18. He was 80.
Born April 5, 1931, in New York City, he attended St. Paul’s School and Garden City High School, and graduated from Hobart College and Case Western Reserve Dental School. He also served as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy.
Dr. Keppler practiced dentistry and resided in Garden City and Westhampton Beach. He was a lifelong boater, skier and very devoted family man. “Doc” to friends and family, he was known for his concern for others and his love of life.
Dr. Keppler is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sally Mooney; children, Elizabeth Keppler McCloy and her husband Mark Charles McCloy of Illinois and Kimberlee Overlander and her husband Keith Francis Overlander of Manhasset; and grandchildren, Billy, Kacie, Elizabeth, Jake and Kevin.
A private burial will be held at Locust Valley Cemetery on August 27, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m., at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Quiogue.
