East Hampton Town Police and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are appealing to the general public for help identifying and locating a man wanted in connection with a violent assault in an East Hampton residential neighborhood earlier this month.
Police have released security camera footage from an unnamed business showing a man with a distinctive tattoo on his arm, who police say assaulted another person on June 18 in the Atwell Street and Muir Boulevard neighborhood.
The victim of the assault was left with serious physical injuries, police said.
The wanted posters show two photos of the man and a close-up of the tattoo, which is on the underside of his left forearm.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
Anyone with information about the assault, the identify of the suspect or his whereabouts are asked to call East Hampton Town Police at 631-537-7575. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-220-TIPS.
