On Sunday evening, the East Quogue Chamber of Commerce hosted a spectacular holiday dinner at the always fabulous Stone Creek Inn. The food was delicious, the company was delightful. On behalf of the chamber, I would like to thank Southampton Town Board member Chris Nuzzi for joining in the festivities.
Congratulations are in order for the new officers of the chamber: President Donna Lanzetta of Lanzetta and Associates; Vice President James Agals of Farm Family Insurance Agency; Secretary Anna Greenwald of South Fork Realty; and Treasurer Kirsten Montgomery of Sandy Toes Children’s Boutique. Congratulations also go to new board members: Tom Haskell of Haskell’s Bait and Tackle, and Michael Mattera of Village Prime Meats.
On behalf of the East Quogue Citizens Advisory Committee, I would like to thank Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst for attending our group’s monthly meeting and for her informative insights.
The members of the East Quogue Beautification Committee would also like to thank our town supervisor for taking the time out of her busy schedule to make the annual tree lighting ceremony a little more special for all of us.
There’s Still Time!: Our terrific Main Street “shoppes” still have fantastic gifts for everyone on your holiday list. You can always find just the right present at Roses and Rice, The Graceful Swan and Village Cards and Gifts. Sandy Toes has charming gifts for the babies and toddlers on your list and Haskell’s Bait and Tackle is the place to go for the “fisher-person” in your life. And, of course, Village Prime Meats always has wonderful gift baskets for all tastes.
Give your favorite “foodie” a gift certificate for a delightful dinner at The Stone Creek Inn or The New Moon Café. And, don’t forget, gift certificates are always available at all of our downtown merchants. So, please shop local. Your business is always appreciated.
There is still time to drop off your gifts, checks and gift cards for the East Quogue Adopt-a-Family program at Roses and Rice on Main Street. Next week, our committee members will be busy little elves wrapping presents and filling gift baskets for families in need in our hamlet. Many thanks to Cathy for loaning us the use of her store for this heartwarming project!

Visit the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons’ wonderful website at wildliferescuecenter.org. Click on the “donate” button to make a gift in any denomination for that someone you know who loves our “wild friends!”
This holiday season you can also help save marine life by adopting a whale, dolphin, seal or sea turtle. All proceeds will benefit the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation and be used to offset the costs of rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing these magnificent creatures. To check on current rehabilitation patients or to arrange your adoptions, call 369-9840 or visit riverheadfoundation.org.
