My wish for you, dear readers, is that your Thanksgiving Day will be filled to overflowing with happiness and laughter, with the love of family and dear friends, and with delightful memories to warm your heart for years to come.In keeping with a thankful holiday spirit, please keep a special place in your hearts for the dedicated and brave men and women who serve our country in the armed forces, and who will not be home to celebrate Thanksgiving. May each and every one of them safely return home.
And, this year, please say an extra special prayer for America. This great land of ours needs time to heal her divisive wounds and time to come together. May God always bless the greatest nation in the world!

Meanwhile, over at our East Quogue Elementary School, there’s only one week to go until the much-anticipated “big night” when the PTA hosts its second annual holiday boutique. Super amazing vendors will be there with lots of spectacular “goodies” for sale just in time for holiday gift-giving. The long list includes: 2 Cute Designs, Avon, Hamptons Barber Shop, Hampton Chocolate Factory, Hamptons Hand Poured, Hamptons Totes, Lavender of the Hamptons, LuLu Roe Clothing, Rodan and Fields, Salon 2000 and Spirit Jewelers by Cynthia. I’ll also be there with my stained glass. So, plan on stopping by the school next Thursday, December 1, from 6 to 9 p.m., for a little pre-holiday shopping. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.

Sunday, December 4: East Quogue Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary hosts its third annual Breakfast With Santa, from 8:30 a.m. until noon, at the East Quogue firehouse on Main Street. Bring your own camera for a special photo-op with Santa. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children age 4 to 11 years. Kids 3 and under eat for free. Monday, December 5: Southampton Town Board special meeting and second public hearing on “The Hills at Southampton” at 5:30 p.m., at the East Quogue Elementary School on Central Avenue.
Monday, December 5: Eastern Long Island Audubon Society meets at 7:15 p.m. at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. Carrie Davis, beekeeper, beekeeping teacher and owner of Honey Heaven, will tell you all about the bees. Everyone is welcome.
Sunday, December 11: The Twin Forks Chapter of The Compassionate Friends hosts its annual community candle-lighting ceremony, in memory of all children taken too soon, at 7 p.m. inside the East Quogue United Methodist Church on Montauk Highway.
