Edith M. Hoehn
Edith May Hoehn of Florida, formerly of Southampton, died in Florida surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 7. She was 74.
Born April 17, 1937, in Flushing, Queens, to Ernest Martin Julke and Viola Julke, Ms. Hoehn was raised in Rosedale but later moved to Southampton with her parents and sisters, Adeline and Myrtle.
She met her husband at the Southampton movie theater when she was only 15 and Robert was 17. According to family, she stole Mr. Hoehn’s heart and after two years of dating, they were married at Sacred Hearts Roman Catholic Church in Southampton.
Ms. Hoehn was an artistic woman who loved to crochet and paint. Likewise she was very skilled at cooking and would have her family over each Sunday for dinner.
Full of life, she was a motivated housewife who showed her love towards her children through daily dedication and support. Her family enjoyed her feisty spirit and eagerness toward living life to the fullest.
Ms. Hoehn is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert; four children, Linda Hoehn and her husband Vinny Demock of Florida, Robert Hoehn Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Southampton, Mark and his wife Alicia of Florida, and Sandra Petersen and her husband Thomas of Florida; nine grandchildren, Jaclyn, Ashley, Brandon, Sidney, Mark Jr., Krista, Kerry, Chase and Hunter; and her sister, Adeline Ryan of Southampton. She was predeceased by her sister, Myrtle.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, October 4, at Sacred Hearts Church and in Live Oaks, Florida, on Tuesday, October 18.
