Edward Ferris of Quogue died on Sunday, August 3, at the Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead as a result of an automobile accident. He was 75.

Mr. Ferris was born in Brooklyn, on August 3, 1933, to Theodore and Elizabeth (née Sullivan) Ferris.

He is survived by a sister, Jean C. Block and her husband Richard of Cutchogue; two nephews, Timothy and Patrick; three grand-nieces, Leah, Kimberly and Kathryn; and a grand-nephew, Kevin.

Graveside services and interment were held at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery in Cutchogue. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of May 8

Gintaras Satas, 58, of Mastic was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. on May 2 and charged with misdemeanor DWI and several vehicle and traffic violations after the vehicle he was driving nearly struck a Southampton Town Police car that was on the side of Montauk Highway in Water Mill with its lights on conducting a traffic stop of another vehicle. When approached by the officer, Satas was found to be unsteady on his feet and a breath alcohol test indicated he had been drinking more than the legal limit, according to police. by Staff Writer

Renny Lopez-Bermeo, 27, of East Hampton was arrested by Southampton Town Police at about 7 p.m. on April 27 and charged with felony DWI after he was pulled over for driving erratically on Lynncliff Road near Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays.
