Edward Lanahan of Southampton died on July 16 at his home. He was 58.
Born in Elmont in 1951 to Andrew and Lucille Lanahan, he moved with his family to Southampton.
A lover of the outdoors, he spent many hours fishing and boating. He was also a skilled carpenter, and worked at designing and remodeling homes. According to family and friends, he will be missed by all.
He is survived by two sons, Edward Lanahan and Kip Lanahan, both of Florida; his mother, Lucille Marfing of Southampton; two sisters and their husbands, Colleen and Anthony Ditalia of Southampton and Kathy Lanahan and Peter Lang of California; and two brothers, Patrick Lanahan of Southampton and John Marfing of Port Jefferson.
A memorial service was held on July 21 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Motor Parkway, Suite LL40, Hauppauge, NY 11788 would be appreciated by the family.
