Eileen DiRuocco
Eileen DiRuocco (née Jayne) of New Hampshire, formerly of Remsenburg, Ossining, and Pleasantville, died on Thursday, February 16. She was 82.
Born in 1929 in Remsenberg to Algernon Brewster Jayne and Ruth Tuthill Jayne, she was civil engineer who retired from Malcolm Pirnie in White Plains. She was an avid scuba diver, an award-winning underwater photographer, and an enthusiastic skier. She enjoyed playing music, scuba diving, crafts and travel, and visited more than 70 countries in her lifetime.
Prior to moving to Concord, New Hampshire, in 2007, she belonged to the Pleasantville Garden Club and the Scuba Sports Club, volunteered with Beneath the Sea, and served first as deacon, then elder of the Presbyterian Church of Pleasantville.
Ms. DiRuocco is survived by siblings, Sybil Bath and her husband Dale of Lake Placid, Susanne and Gene Ketner of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Joan Jayne of Pennsylvania; children, Barbara Simmons and her husband Steve of Ohio, and Bianca DiRuocco and Alan Benoit of New Hampshire; two grandsons, Vincent and Matthew Simmons of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, Camillo Vincent DiRuocco of Ossining; and by her brothers, Al ‘Bruce’ Jayne, David Jayne and Walter Jayne.
Services took place in Pleasantville, followed by interment at the Long Island National Cemetery.
