Eleanor Travis of Westhampton died August 4, 2017. She was 92.
Known as “Ellie,” Mrs. Travis was born in New Jersey and lived in Pennsylvania until she moved to New York with her husband, Gene, who predeceased her. They both worked together at the Bath Dunes Hotels and the Westhampton Bath and Tennis Club. Survivors said that over the years she made many friends and impacted many lives with her kind and giving heart. Later she met John and his family and they devoted their time together as friends and life partners, until John’s death a few weeks ago.
She was a longtime member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue, serving as a eucharistic minister and sacristan. She also taught Sunday School for many years.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
