Elizabeth Ashton Mauceri of Sag Harbor died on December 6 after a short illness. She was 80.
She died with her family by her side.
She was a registered nurse who trained and worked at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. After her nursing career, she attended Southampton College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, in history. She taught history at Southampton High School.
She then followed one of her passions, cooking, and became a caterer. After catering, she found another passion for interior design and decorating, which she pursued until retirement in 2009.
She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family members, her family said, noting that she always said that she couldn’t wait to find her next passion of pursuit.
She is survived by her husband Vince; her son Christopher; her daughter Amy Plum; her grandchildren Christopher Mauceri, Matthew Mauceri, Patrick Plum, Payne Plum and Honey Plum; her sister Rosemary Ashton; and her brother William Ashton.
