Elizabeth Corker of Quogue died on July 13. She was 74.
Born in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, and raised in the rectory of St. Michael’s Church on 99th Street, she was an alumna of Nightengale and an honors graduate of Vassar College. She dedicated her career to higher education and retired as chief human resources officer at Stony Brook University.
She was a fiercely ethical person who advocated for what she believed in. She cared deeply for the environment and for every bird and turtle in Quogue. She loved the deer, but not when they ate her plants.
She leaves behind family, friends and colleagues who miss her deeply. To know her was to love her and to be loved.
There will be a small private gathering.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge (quoguewildliferefuge.org) in her memory would be appreciated by her family.
