Elizabeth R. Carlson
Elizabeth R. Carlson of Riverhead died at Peconic Bay Medical Center on July 10. She was 80.
For many years Ms. Carlson worked in various Hampton Bays restaurants as a waitress. She also “worked” as a homemaker and was a mother of eight children.
She is survived by her children, James Scagel of Hampton Bays, Pamela Saboe and her husband Keith of East Quogue, Paula Spellman of Syosset, Kathe Hamill and her husband David of Hampton Bays, William Sanders and his wife Wanda of Massapequa, and Michael Quinn of Riverhead; three sisters, Lillian Weeden of Florida, Muriel Polk and her husband Theodore of Garden City, and Eleanor Mauser and her husband Jack of Shirley; 19 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandaughter.
She was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Kathi Scagel, and a son, Robert Scagel.
Visiting hours were held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 13, and Reverend Richard Wagner of Freedom Chapel conducted a service that evening. On Thursday morning, prior to interment in Good Ground Cemetery, a good friend, Bill Combs, led a prayer service for family and friends.
