Elizabeth Wright

Elizabeth Wright of Hampton Bays died on October 30 at the Affinity Skilled Living and Rehab Center in Sayville. She was 108.

Born in Lithuania on June 12, 1904, she was formerly from Great Neck. Married to Joseph Wright, who predeceased her, for more than 50 years, she was a laundry worker most of her life and belonged to the Amalgamated Laundry Workers Union in New York City. Most of all, she was devoted to making a home for her family. In her 70s and 80s, she was a volunteer with the Animal Rescue Fund, then based in Hampton Bays.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Kristin Arabio of Wading River and Susan Wright of Massachusetts; and her great-grandchildren, Brianna Nicole, Kaitlyn, Matthew and Lindsay Arabio.

Visiting hours were at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on November 2, with a funeral Mass at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays later in the day. Burial followed at Good Ground Cemetery.

Nod to the Past

Refuse Surprises

The Noyac Civic Council once again is proud to have many volunteers join in the Great East End Clean-Up. This year, we had a few different surprises as we picked up the usual trash along Noyac Road. New Jersey Man Arrested After Woman Claims He Set Up a Spy Camera in Bathroom

A New Jersey man was arrested by Southampton Town Police over the weekend and charged with unlawful surveillance after a woman told police she suspected that he had used a remote camera to watch her in the bathroom. The woman, who police have not identified other than to say she is from Indiana, called police on May 3 and reported that she was staying at an Airbnb house in Water Mill for the weekend with several co-workers.
