SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Sag Harbor Village Police are investigating a report they received Sunday of a possible burglary at a Grand Street home. The resident of the house had recently died, and his family members were cleaning it out when they discovered that a deadbolt lock on an exterior door had been damaged, apparently by someone forcing their way into the house. In addition, the woman making the report to police, the owner’s daughter, pointed out that a large oil painting by the artist Hjalmar Cappy Amundsen, which had been hanging on the wall, was missing. The first is a state measure that would clear the way for an Olympic skiing and trail facility on preserved land upstate.
