A memorial service for Evan S. King will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 4 p.m., at the home of his mother, Rainey Day Erwin, and stepfather, John S. Erwin, at 94 Halsey Lane in Water Mill.

Mr. King died on April 25 at his home in California, of heart failure. He was 34.

He was born in New York City on February 23, 1975. In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his father, Skye King, and a half sister, Shanleigh King.

Survivors said this week that he will be sorely missed, greatly remembered, and his radiant smile will continue to shine for all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Churchill School and Center Scholarship Fund, 301 East 29th Street, New York, NY 10016 would be appreciated by the family.

Family Fun Day Set At Hampton Bays Church

The Hampton Bays Assembly of God will host a Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, June 8. All are invited to the free event that will include face painting, crafts, games, music, food, an inflatable obstacle course and bounce house, animal shelter dog walking and an educational exhibit from the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Refuge. Teeny Awards To Be Presented on June 8

East End Arts & Humanities Council, Inc. will present its 23rd annual Teeny Awards on Sunday, June 8, at 3 p.m. at Greenport High School, A red carpet event starts at 1 p.m. The 2025 Teeny Awards ceremony, hosted by WLIW’s Gianna Volpe and produced by Kasia Klimiuk, will feature performances by over 100 high school theater students, while presenters consisting of leaders in theater, as well as the local community, present a variety of awards for the 2024/25 high school theater season. Promotions for National Guardsman Announced

Air Force Major General Michael Bank, the commander of the New York Air National Guard, has announced the recent promotion of members of the New York Air National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership. Edward Metcalf from Westhampton Beach, assigned to the 106th Rescue Wing, received a promotion April 1 to the rank of master sergeant.
