Everhart Virginia Askew of Quogue died at the Riverhead Care Center on Sunday, January 18. She was 93.
Born to Allen T. and Janie Langhorn Booker in Clinton, Virginia, on February 15, 1915, she moved in 1952 to Quogue, where she worked for the Crane family. She later worked for the Winters and Prescott families of Westhampton Beach, and during the late 1950s and early ’60s, she ran her own employment agency.
Ms. Askew is survived by four sons, Hans Crews Jr., Donald A. Crews, Harold A. Galloway and Troy A. Askew; two daughters, Carol E. Brooks and Sardee E. Eppes; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by two sons, Charles E. Crews and Chester I. Crews; and a daughter, Elaine L. Crews.
A memorial service was held at the Eastport Kingdom of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 24. Interment was private.
