Every Trick in the Book

How is it possible that Donald Trump can con so many people? He was born to wealth and continued acquiring more and more his whole life. No matter whom he hurt, he remained on top.

When I say hurt, I’m talking about the workers and suppliers of his many businesses that he didn’t pay — I know many of those small-business owners personally, many of whom were people of color.

In the 1960s, he and his father excluded African Americans and other minorities from one of the largest residential developments in Brooklyn. They were sued for fraud and discrimination, and lost. They did this to make money, because they felt that if they let minorities move into their development, it would lower prices

They were sued again in 1975. Clearly, they never learned from their mistakes, because they thought they knew better.

Donald Trump, then and now, always blames someone else. Roy Cohn, a disbarred lawyer, most likely advised him. “Never admit you’re wrong” was their philosophy.

Another loss, and this time to the Justice Department. They took down vacancy signs, raised prices and changed application forms so that no minority could pass. Every trick in the book, a la Roy Cohn.

How can minorities vote for a man who prevented them from improving their lives and the lives of their children? How many people of color are living in his properties today? Even if you ask Trump that question today, you could never trust the answer.
