Faith Forgan Lovejoy of New York and Southampton died on May 10. She was 92.

Ms. Lovejoy was a long-time resident of New York City, where we she was a member of the Colony Club, and also Southampton, where she was a member of the Bathing Corporation and the Meadow Club. In Palm Beach, she belonged to the Everglades and Bath and Tennis Club.

Ms. Lovejoy was an avid bridge player, a lover of animals, and always carried an infectious laughter for all of her friends.

She was greatly interested in maintaining Southampton in the lovely way it has developed. She was among one of its most avid supporters.

A bad idea doesn’t improve with age. Suffolk County is about to discover this. In November, the county will ask its voters, once again, to sign off on four-year terms for county legislators.
